The value of the system comes from verifiable identity and linked documentation. Information is recorded at the moment it is provided and remains attached to the artwork over time, reducing the risk of missing or fragmented documentation. By separating documentation from judgment, SmartStamp supports transparency and allows information to be used more reliably across the art ecosystem. Users can rely on SmartStamp to maintain clear and structured records; they should rely on their own expertise, or external experts, for authentication decisions.

A note on scope. SmartStamp focuses on documenting artworks and maintaining structured records. It does not determine authenticity or replace expert judgment. It provides a system to record and manage information clearly and consistently — creating a continuous record that can be used across different contexts, including sales, collection management, and institutional workflows.
