SmartStamp is a system designed to standardize how artworks are documented and how their records are maintained over time. We created a shared structure that can be used by artists, collectors, galleries, and institutions, where each artwork is linked to a digital identity (STAMP), making information consistent and verifiable. SmartStamp focuses on linking four elements: the artwork, its documentation, its creator, and its owner. These elements remain connected through a digital STAMP that follows the artwork throughout its lifecycle, from creation, to sale, to collection, to transfer. The system provides a consistent layer of documentation that can be used alongside current practices and management systems, reducing fragmentation without seeking to centralize control.
