Creating AI Digital Fingerprints of Acclaimed Artist Kimsooja’s Conceptual Meta-Paintings
Berlin recently hosted its widely attended Art Week, a series of exhibitions and events that brought together artists, collectors, professionals, and art lovers from around the world.
One of the most captivating exhibitions featured our friend, the internationally renowned artist Kimsooja. Her conceptual Meta-Paintings and prismatic light installations have earned international acclaim and can be simultaneously viewed in various corners of the globe, from the Samsung Leeum Museum in Seoul to the Pinault Collection in Venice and even the dome of the Galeries Lafayette in Paris, among many other museums and galleries.
This week in Berlin provided audiences with the chance to view several of her series showcased in the palatial Kewenig Gallery.
Our innovative ArtID app played a pivotal role in authenticating Kimsooja’s minimal physical works. Our mobile app-based lab solution allowed us to digitally fingerprint her artworks on-site during her solo exhibition without any additional assistance or lighting. This technological advancement aims to preserve the integrity of her art, providing reassurance to both the artist and her collectors.
As we reflect on our role during Berlin Art Week, we are reminded once again of the enduring impact of art and the importance of preserving it for generations to come.
We were honored to join Kimsooja, her esteemed gallery, and respected museum directors in celebrating her remarkable vision, career, and invaluable contribution to our shared art experiences.
